The founder

Frederick John Martin

Frederick trained as a Tool and Die Maker at Solar Turbines, working to tolerances as tight as ±0.0001″ and developing his skills in GD&T. At AMETEK he specialised in injection mould making, working with high-performance alloys and heat treatment. Across 15+ years he has run ProtoTrak mills, wire EDM, vertical turret lathes and surface grinders, and has built everything from turbine tooling to custom mould inserts.

He founded FJM Manufacturing to bring that toolmaker’s approach to precision machining — custom fixtures and workholding designed in-house, tolerances to ±0.0001″ on critical features, 100% inspection on every part, and no job too small.

How we work

What that means for you

No sales desk

The person quoting your part is the person machining it. Technical questions get technical answers, on the phone.

Fixtures in-house

Awkward parts other shops decline are usually a workholding problem, and workholding is what a toolmaker does.

No job too small

One piece is a real order. Prototypes and single replacements are core business, not an inconvenience.

Where we are

FAQ

Common questions

There is no minimum order quantity. A single prototype, a one-off replacement, or a repair part is a real job here.

Quotes come back the next business day. Rush service is available, including next-morning turnaround on suitable jobs. The shop opens at 6:00 AM Monday through Friday.

Tolerances to ±0.0001″ on critical features. Every part is inspected against print before it ships — 100% inspection, not sampling — on a granite surface plate with a TESA height gauge.

Yes. Anodizing, plating, heat treatment and passivation are managed on your behalf, so parts arrive finished rather than as raw machined blanks. Light assembly is also available.
