Why shops say no to a part

When three shops in a row decline your job, the reason is rarely that the part cannot be machined. It is that holding it takes a fixture nobody wants to build.

Designing and cutting custom workholding is a separate skill from running a machine. Most job shops do not have it in-house, so the honest calculation is that the fixture costs more than the job earns — and you get a no with no explanation.

At FJM the fixture work happens under the same roof, by the same person who machines the part. That changes which jobs are worth taking.

Yes. FJM offers 3D scanning and reverse engineering and can work directly from a sample part with no drawing or CAD model.

Yes. Anodizing, plating, heat treatment and passivation are managed on your behalf, so parts arrive finished rather than as raw machined blanks. Light assembly is also available.
